About

Hi, I’m Lauren — the founder behind Norae.

“Norae” (노래) translates to “song” in Korean. It speaks to the quiet rhythm beneath movement and creation — the inner music that emerges when we slow down enough to listen.

I started practicing yoga in 2012 and took my first ceramics class in 2014. What began as an art elective became a way to connect more deeply to myself. Over the years, working with clay became a form of meditation & self expression — a way to return to my body and breath and to witness form take shape.

As I deepened in both practices, I began to recognize their shared philosophy: the union of breath & movement, the shaping of form through sustained attention, the patience to remain with process rather than grasp for outcome, and the transformation that is forged through fire. Both became ways of inner listening.

Over time, I found again and again that the body knows things that the mind is still catching up to. That the hands, when trusted, create things that are more honest and true than anything the thinking mind would have chosen. That presence, returning to the body and the felt sense of being human is one of the most radical, powerful things we can practice.

This is what Norae is built on.

My four-week offering, Presence: From Inner Experience to Outer Form, introduces this practice - using the body, the breath, and the hands as the primary teachers.

Additional program arcs explore grief and transition, ancestry and identity, the body in illness, and major life thresholds (coming soon). All of them work in the same languages of body, breath, and clay. All of them begin with the same invitation: slow down, feel, and let what is true take shape.

These programs are designed to work well alongside traditional therapeutic work as a complementary, embodied practice.

My work shifts with the seasons of my own life. What remains constant is a devotion to presence, process, and the quiet intelligence that lives within us all.

It is my hope that Norae offers you moments of connection, care, and inner listening — and that what is shaped here carries a little more love, honesty and peace into the world.

Thank you for being here ♡
